ELECTRICAL AND THERMAL INSULATORS

High - voltage industrial plants use the insulators of 95% Al2O3 ceramics exhibiting high electrical resistance of 20 kV/mm. Besides insulators, this ceramics is also used for elements which have good thermal conductivity, usually in electrically powered high - temperature systems.
The same material is used for production of resistors to be fitted into high - voltage plants. Due to its excellent mechanical properties even at elevated temperatures, this ceramics is most frequently used for insulators in electrical industry, heater insulators for various heating systems, spark plug insulators for engine ignition systems, etc.
